Pie Five Pizza introduces trend-setting fast-casual pizza experience to Richmond May 16
Calling all pizza lovers! The fast-casual revolution is on, and it has finally made its way to the Commonwealth.
On Friday, May 16, the trend-setting Pie Five Pizza chain will open the doors to its newest restaurant, its first in Virginia, just outside the capital city. Located at 10921F W. Broad Street in Glen Allen, near the intersection with Cox Rd., the restaurant marks the first of eight units franchise owners Jeff and Deborah Percey have committed to opening in the area.
“We’re thrilled to introduce fast-casual pizza to the Richmond area,” said Jeff Percey, “Everyone remembers their first Pie Five experience, when they watch us build their personal pizza, with all their favorite toppings, and serve it up in less than five minutes. Then they taste their pie, and a new fan is born!”
As part of its grand opening celebration, Pie Five will join forces with the community to raise money for the Western Henrico County Public Schools. Customers will have a chance to contribute May 19-22 and May 27-30 when 20 percent of all dinner sales will be donated to local Henrico School PTAs.
“Our intention is to support the Richmond community, and there’s no better way than by investing in our local schools,” said Percey, who added that the goal is to raise $10,000 on behalf of the Henrico schools during the grand opening festivities.
On May 23, the Chamber of Commerce and representatives from the school system will be on-hand for an official ribbon cutting, beginning at 10:30 a.m. Q94-FM, Richmond’s #1 hit music station, will broadcast live from Pie Five from 6 – 8 p.m. Free pizzas will be given away during the radio remote.
The Glen Allen location marks Pie Five’s 20th location nationwide. The leading brand in the rapidly growing, fast-casual pizza segment now has 13 locations in Texas, two each in Kansas and Utah, and one each in Florida, North Carolina and Virginia.
