The Starbucks Coffeehouse, located in the bustling Ballston business district of Arlington, received a major facelift including the new Starbucks design, increased coffeehouse seating capacity, and additional retail space for expanded Starbucks Grab and Go food items.
“When designing the new look of the coffeehouse, we worked closely with Starbucks to create an atmosphere that is warm and inviting,” said Michael Broadhurst, the General Manager of the Westin Arlington Gateway, who also oversees the café. “Our goal was to make a place where locals know we are their friendly, neighborhood coffeehouse.”
Since the renovations a few months ago, the coffeehouse has seen an uptick in sales as well as new guests and customers that have quickly become regulars. “The positive feedback from our customers, both locals and hotel guests, has been phenomenal,” said Broadhurst. “The new design creates an excellent environment where people can meet and collaborate – or just hang out and chat.”
The Starbucks is managed by The Westin Arlington Gateway, one of over 100 hotels throughout North America in the Crescent Hotels & Resorts portfolio. The Coffeehouse is adjacent to the lobby of the hotel, and even has outdoor seating and its own dedicated street entrance off North Glebe Road and Wilson Boulevard.
Both the hotel and coffeehouse have reputations for being strong supporters of the local community. They participate in many annual charities, fundraisers and local events such as a food drive for locals in need and being a Toys for Tots drop-off site. “We feel it is important to give back to the local community,” added Broadhurst.
