New Orleans’ third annual Top Taco festival and multi-day celebration of tequila and mezcal, Agave Week, will return Sunday, March 10 – Friday, March 15, 2019, with an array of festive events throughout the Crescent City. A very limited amount of advance discounted tickets for Top Taco – Agave Week’s grand tasting on Thursday, March 14th – are on sale now.
Imbibers can expect various spirit-focused parties beginning Sunday, March 10th including the World’s Largest Bloody Maria Brunch; Don Julio Scavenger Hunt; El Tesoro’s Welcome Party, Mezcalicious Soiree; Top Tequila competition; as well as restaurant pop-ups, cooking classes and more. The celebration will culminate at Woldenberg Park for Top Taco on Thursday where Chefs and Mixologists from over 50 restaurants will compete for the coveted awards in four categories: Top Creative Taco, Top Traditional Taco, Top Creative Tequila Cocktail, and Top Traditional Margarita. 2018 winners included Cochon Butcher, Johnny Sánchez, Bayou Bar, Del Fuego Taquería and SoBou. New this year will be an “A Night in Paradiso” presented by El Tesoro – an elevated VIP experience featuring exclusive 6 PM entry to the event, private lounge area with premium open bar; eight all-star Chefs cooking unforgettable cuisine; and exclusive Paradiso and El Tesoro reposado select barrel tastings. Additionally, the event will have a larger footprint at Woldenberg Park but the number of tickets for sale (in advance only) will be limited in order to make for fewer lines, more room and a hassle-free experience for all guests. A portion of proceeds will benefit Foster Nola – a non-profit organization dedicated to helping children in the city’s foster care system as they transition into adulthood.
Limited advance tickets for Top Taco on March 14, 2019 are on sale now at Top Taco NOLA. Available on a first-come-first-served basis, ticket prices will increase once the initial quantity sells out, so guests are encouraged to purchase early. General Admission discounted passes are currently $45 per person; First Tasting tickets are $65 and include early entry, and VIP discounted tickets are $95 per person which includes “A Night in Paradiso” VIP experience.
