In 2018 The Abruzzo Consortium is celebrating the 50th anniversary of Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOC with events all over the world. The US celebration will take place in Houston on September 10th and in Boston on September 13th.
Montepulciano d’Abruzzo is one of the top three DOC wines produced in Italy: a wine loved by Americans with its inviting intense ruby red color, the unmistakable fragrance of red fruits, flowers and spices, and the dry but soft tannis.
Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOC is obtained only from vineyards located in hilly or highland terrain, and it is made almost exclusively from grapes of the vine of the same name, with the possible small addition (max 15%) of other red grape varieties suited to the Abruzzo terroir.
The US events will give the possibility to deepen the knowledge about this wine, through educational seminars and walk-around tastings with 80+ wines. The guests will meet established producers alongside some exciting new labels not yet available on the U.S. market and learn directly from Abruzzo winemakers.
