Tempo by Hilton Nashville Downtown Appoints New Director of Food & Beverage and Executive Chef

Tempo by Hilton Nashville Downtown, the second hotel from Hilton’s new stylish and contemporary lifestyle brand, Tempo by Hilton. The property welcomes Lindsay Whalen as Director of Food & Beverage hailing from past positions with Noelle Nashville, Hilton Downtown and Hilton Green Hills. In this position, Whalen will be managing all aspects of food and beverage operations on property including overseeing menu planning, cost analysis, purchasing, inventory management and staffing within all on-site concepts (Bluestone Lane Café, Topgolf Swing Suites and Lovelorn Lounge & Pool Bar).

  • Born and raised in Lynnfield, Massachusetts, Whalen started working in the hospitality industry at 15 years old, after looking for a job to supplement school costs. Whalen states that’s where she “fell in love with how fast-paced, challenging, and ever-changing the industry could be.” Later Whalen obtained a BA in Music Industry/Vocal Performance at Northeastern University, where she combined her lifelong experience with her studies in music and business to increase revenue for each hotel and restaurant that she has worked in since, by maintaining musical bookings and curating events. She credits her love of the industry, the life-long friendships she’s forged, along with passion and dedication being the driving force behind her 25-year tenure in the hospitality scene. Whalen’s experience ranges from advanced management positions to front-of-house hourly experience. Her vast repertoire positions her perfectly to take on her new role as Director of Food and Beverage at Tempo by Hilton Nashville Downtown.

 

Additionally, joining Whalen is Executive Chef Jason Lawson, who was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee and brings over a decade of experience within the hospitality industry to Tempo by Hilton Nashville Downtown. Lawson oversees the back-of-the-house operations as well as the creation of new, exciting menu items that represent the best of Nashville cuisine. Studying under Michelin and James Beard awarded chefs, Lawson offers a unique perspective on “southern cuisine,” making each dine a memorable experience.
