This week, Tanduay Asian Rum started 2014 with its first sponsored event of the New Year, Yelp’s Elite Kick-Off Party, at Oak Haven Table and Bar in New Haven, CT on Monday, January 27. Throughout the night, over 50 hand-selected locals in-the-know, distinguished as the Yelp Elite, enjoyed appetizers and light bites provided by the restaurant, and two signature beverages made with Tanduay, the only spirit featured at the exclusive affair.
“Since our launch in Connecticut in July of last year, Tanduay’s versatile flavor profile has made quite an impression with consumers, bartenders, and rum drinkers across the state,” remarked Mari Carrion, the brand’s on-premise Key Account Manager for the state of Connecticut. “Having the opportunity to introduce and share two very different beverages with New Haven’s local evangelists continued to prove that Tanduay’s taste is unmatched, as both drinks were complimented and well-received by event attendees. We thoroughly enjoyed helping Yelp’s most influential and informed community members start their year off with a bang.”
In addition to distribution of POS material and goodie bags, two custom cocktails created by with Tanduay—The Emperor and Death In the Afternoon—were served to event guests. Using Tanduay’s signature apple-infused Silver rum, the The Emperor was made with Dolin Dry Vermouth, smooth Pierre Ferrand Dry Curacao, sweet house made grenadine and orange bitters. Mixing tart lime juice with the toasted caramel notes of Tanduay’s Gold expression, herbaceous house made cherry-rosemary syrup and the zing of Domaine de Canton Ginger Liquer created the Death In the Afternoon cocktail.
Concluding the evening’s festivities, a raffle was held with prizes including a bottle of Tanduay Silver Asian Rum, a bottle of Tanduay Gold Asian Rum and a $100 gift certificate to Oak Haven Table and Bar for the winners.
