The entertaining Chuck Hughes has taken viewers behind the scenes at his restaurant in Chuck’s Day Off, experienced the tastes of Mexico in Chuck’s Week Off: Mexico, and competed against all-star chefs in The Next Iron Chef: Super Chefs. Chuck returns to Cooking Channel in Chuck’s Eat the Street, premiering Tuesday, October 9th at 8:30pm ET/5:30pm PT, visiting some of the most distinguished and intriguing streets in America, tasting delectable foods along the way. Whether it is Beale Street in Memphis, Mission Street in San Francisco, or Magazine Street in New Orleans, Chuck experiences the history, lore and food behind these famous streets.

In the season premiere Chuck visits Philadelphia, a city known for its gastronomic greatness. On Walnut Street Chuck discovers Pickled WatermelonandPoutine topped with Fried Eggs at Square Peg, and Veggie and traditional Meatballs at Marabella Meatball Co. Chuck then takes a walk to nearby Middle Eastern restaurant Zahav for a Hanger Steak on a bed of Baba ghanoush; and discovers one of the secret ingredients for the gelato at Capogiro Gelato that will make your head spin.
Other episodes feature visits to Magazine Street in New Orleans, to taste a spicy mélange of diverse influences, including receiving a lesson in Creole roux at Ignatius Eatery, and tasting a paneéd Mississippi Rabbit sandwich at La Petite Grocery. And in Portland, Maine, Chuck experiences the best sticky bun outside Paris at Standard Baking and a fresh, steamed lobster that Chuck catches himself at Three Sons Lobster & Fish.
Chuck Hughes is the multi-talented star of Cooking Channel’s Chuck’s Day Off and the owner and chef of Montreal hot-spot Garde Manger and Le Bremner. His unbridled passion for entertaining translates into both unforgettable food and captivating television. Chuck loves food. So much that his favorites are tattooed on his arms: bacon, lemon meringue pie, lobster and arugula just to name a few. After going to culinary school and working in some of the hottest restaurants in town, he partnered with his two best friends and opened Garde Manger to rave reviews and packed seating.
