That mouthwatering aroma you encounter the next time you walk into Southland Center Mall says it all: Nestlé Toll House cookies are in the oven!
Kids of all ages in Taylor this week started reliving their warm childhood memories thanks to the arrival of the mall’s new Nestlé® Toll House® Café by Chip.
The bakery café specializes in serving up freshly baked cookies, smoothies, ice cream and a wide array of other delectable treats. The location, which marks the eighth café in Michigan, is one of 18 cafés set to open this year under a long-term master lease agreement signed in October 2013 with Rouse Properties, Inc. (NYSE: RSE), a national owner and operator of regional enclosed malls. It also marks the 12th café in the Midwest market and the 133rd system-wide.
The new café will hold a three-day grand opening celebration August 6-8, featuring cookie cake raffles and complimentary mini cookies for the first 1,000 customers, as well as special appearances by the Nesquik Bunny himself on Friday andSaturday.
While this may be Southland Center’s first taste of Nestlé-baked bliss, franchise owners Howard and Alisa Taylor have been the go-to host of sweet escapes in Michigan since opening their first café in 2007 at Twelve Oaks Mall in Novi, MI. Now with a fourth café to call home, the couple can’t wait to offer even more variety to Southland Center thanks to their tasty sit-down meal options. The premium dessert destination concept is built around the world’s most powerful food brand – Nestlé. Along with its universally loved Nestlé Toll House cookies and cookie cakes, the new café serves brownies, muffins, smoothies, ice creams, cold drinks and Nescafé® Milano coffee. The café is also a great lunch option, thanks to its made-to-order crepes, wraps and Panini sandwiches.
Complete with its own comfortable seating area, the café features digital menus displayed on eight LED screens and an upgraded design that showcases the brand’s distinctive product offerings in a more efficient and attractive manner.

The Southland Center Mall is located at 23000 Eureka Rd., with the Nestlé Toll House Café situated in the center court near Macy’s. Café hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
