Shashi Hotel, a premier urban resort in Mountain View, California, is thrilled to announce the opening of its in-house boutique coffee shop, Carte Blanche. Set to redefine the art of coffee craftsmanship in Silicon Valley, Carte Blanche is helmed by Shashi Group’s Vice President of Culinary Operations, Chef Jarad Gallager, along with Executive Chef Aubree Arndt. Artisanal coffee offerings will be accompanied by a menu focused on Spanish flavors and techniques, expertly crafted by the experienced chef duo.
Carte Blanche has partnered exclusively with independently owned coffee roaster Vertigo Coffee Roasters, based in in the historic town of San Juan Bautista, California with its coffee sourced from Mexico, Honduras, Colombia, and Peru. Carte Blanche’s team of baristas are trained to deliver coffee that is perfectly balanced and full of flavor while the café’s rotating selection of single-origin beans will ensure that there is always something new and exciting for guests to try.
“Carte Blanche is designed around the idea that coffee is not just a drink, it’s a way of life. That each of us are busy, driven, and often in need of the perfect cup of coffee,” said Jarad Gallager, Vice President of Culinary Operations, Shashi Group. “We believe that coffee and food should be enjoyed in a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. Our café is designed with a modern feel, but we have strived to create a cozy and calming space for our guests to relax and savor their meal or drink. With a commitment to quality ingredients and exceptional service, we aim to become a gathering place for the community and a destination for visitors of the area.”
Coffee enthusiasts can anticipate a diverse menu, ranging from classic drip coffee and espresso to single origin coffees, along with seasonal coffee drinks featuring Carte Blanche’s made in-house syrups. Moreover, patrons can indulge in alternative beverages like Mushroom Coffee, local beer on tap, wines by the glass and barrel aged cocktails. The café’s breakfast and lunch menu feature Spanish influences with every dish made with the freshest, locally sourced ingredients and prepared with a creative touch. With Shashi Hotel at the center of Silicon Valley’s tech hub, the café menu is designed to be approachable and fast, combining high quality, chef designed food with efficient and fast production times. For instance, the Spanish Tortilla – a staple throughout Spain – will be served with a traditional romesco sauce and a light greens salad, available on the go or enjoyed at one’s leisure.
“Our guests expect nothing less than excellence in every facet of their stay with us. Carte Blanche is an embodiment of that commitment, offering a sensory experience that reflects the heart and soul of Shashi Hotel Mountain View,” said Dipesh Gupta, CEO and founder, Shashi Group. “Our team is proud to introduce this first-to-market concept to Silicon Valley and we look forward to welcoming local and visiting coffee enthusiasts and connoisseurs.”
