An elegant evening of gourmet food and wine, Taste of the Nation features chefs and gourmet cuisine from over 50 restaurants and vendors catering to both Miami and Fort Lauderdale. The evening will also include live entertainment along with live, silent and wine auctions. Chef Allen Susser, chair of Taste of the Nation Miami for 25 years, will pull together an incredible line-up of local restaurants committed to Share Our Strength’s vision to end childhood hunger.
More than 60 celebrated restaurants, fine wine and spirits and live entertainment come together in an unforgettable night for a fabulous cause – end childhood hunger in America. This year’s event will be bigger than ever, with pop-up stations located in the heart of the ballroom; a basketball hoop area where guests can challenge former WNBA star and Share Our Strength advocate Ruth Riley while raising money for the organization ($1 per hoop); and a bocce ball court. Miami Heat fans should not fret: there will be a beer garden with flat screen TVs set up for those in attendance who can’t miss Game 6, scheduled to air that evening.
100% of ticket sales from South Florida’s exclusive gastronomic extravaganza will benefit Share Our Strength, the nation’s leading nonprofit organization working to end childhood hunger. This year’s soirée will be emceed by local culinary personality Ralph Pagano.
Participating restaurants include 3030 Ocean; Bianca at the Delano; AQ at Acqualina; Area 31; Azul at Mandarin Oriental; Bianca at the Delano; Biscayne Tavern; Casa D’Angelo Fort Lauderdale; Cypress Room; db Bistro Moderne; EDGE Steak & Bar at Four Seasons; HaVen South Beach; The Dutch at W South Beach Hotel & Residences; and Wynwood Kitchen & Bar.
The festivities will continue at the new Black and Blanco After Party, presented by Tequila Casa Dragones Blanco and hosted by Chef Josh Capon at Lure Fishbar at Loews Miami Beach. Guests will enjoy hors d’oeuvres by Lure, chocolate temptations by Miami’s top pâtissiers: Jordi Panisello of Fontainebleau Miami Beach; Josh Gripper of The Dutch at The W South Beach Hotel and Residences and Antonio Bachour of St. Regis Bal Harbour as well as custom cocktails showcasing the new Tequila Casa Dragones Blanco silver tequila, created by Lure’s acclaimed mixologist Rob Ferrara.
The much anticipated annual tasting event will take place on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 from 7 to 10 p.m. General admission tickets are priced at $125 per person; VIP tickets priced at $250 per person, and provide access to the event an hour before the doors open, as well as admission to the Black and Blanco After Party.
