South Florida’s 17th Annual Palm Beach Food & Wine Festival is set to return this December 12 to 15, bringing four days of culinary excellence to six cities across Palm Beach County. This year’s festival will highlight the talents of 65 of the region’s top chefs alongside wine connoisseurs, making it a premier event for food and wine enthusiasts.
The fest weekend events kick off Friday, December 13 with the 2024 Palm Beach Food & Wine Festival Kick-off Party presented by Wine Spectator at The Boca Raton Resort. This evening event entails a walk-around tasting and star-studded chef lineup, all while enjoying terroir-driven wines from Israel’s leading producers, Golan Heights Winery and Galil Mountain Winery. Guests will enjoy a special pouring of their finest wines, rated 90+ points, and meet Headwinemaker Victor Schoenfeld. The party will feature theatric display of food, wine, spirits, and desserts prepared by executive chef Andrew Roenbeck and his team. It will also feature guest chefs Lindsay Autry, Tiffani Faison, Ben Ford, Neal Fraser, Antonia Lofaso, James London, Jonathon Sawyer, and Stephen Stryjewski. Live entertainment around the property’s Grand Lawn aims to keep the party going well into the evening.
The festival’s grand finale, the Grand Tasting, will be held at the Palm Beach County Convention Center. This sumptuous spectacle will showcase dishes and desserts from more than 60 restaurants paired with over 115 wines, each rated 90+ by Wine Spectator magazine, spirits tastings and more. This highly anticipated event serves as the culmination of a week dedicated to celebrating gourmet cuisine and fine wine.
Among the standout Grand Tasting events is the Chef Throwdown, where three local chefs will compete for a $10,000 prize benefiting a local charity. Judging the competition will be an impressive panel of celebrity chefs, including Maneet Chauhan, Tiffani Faison and Robert Irvine. Other chef-lebrities that will be participating in the fest include Duff Goldman, Daniel Boulud and Michelle Bernstein.
Chef Lindsay Autry, co-founder of the festival and owner of the acclaimed restaurant Honeybelle, expressed excitement about the festival’s growth. “We’ve doubled in size this year,” she said in a WPTV report, noting the expansion of the event space to accommodate the increased number of attendees. Honeybelle will be serving a Florida shrimp roll with brioche buns from Old School Bakery, topped with a pork rind gremolata and fresh herbs.
The festival will also feature live entertainment, with American Idol winner Phillip Phillips performing hits like “Home” and “Gone, Gone, Gone.”
Also in the WPTV report David Sabin, co-founder of the festival, highlighted the continued partnership with Els for Autism, the event’s beneficiary for the past two years. “We are thrilled to raise funds for such a meaningful cause,” he said.
