A cooperative movement called The People’s Co-operative (also known as Save The Earth) has launched, intent on creating mechanisms for environmental action on a local level. One of its focuses is helping members to set up real ale organic breweries, patchwork farms, food forests, organic bakeries, and other environmentally friendly food-based initiatives. It also aims to set up a Clean Food for Schools project, working with schools to educate kids in growing their own food via permaculture and aquaponics systems. It’s currently being financed via the crowdfunding platform Crowdfunder.
