SALADO’S CULINARY LANDMARK THE STAGECOACH RESTAURANT REOPENS WITH FRESH FLAVORS AND TIMELESS TRADITION

The Stagecoach Restaurant, in Salado, TX, has reopened to once again welcome travelers and locals alike to enjoy fresh food and southern hospitality, all in a location steeped in Texas history. The historic restaurant originally opened its doors as the Stagecoach Inn in 1947 and will once again offer guests breakfast, lunch and dinner fare daily from the updated historic menu.

Stagecoach has partnered with Monument Group in Georgetown, TX (Monument Cafe and El Monumento) to breathe new life into the celebrated restaurant. After shutting down the restaurant for renovations beginning in June 2023, the team has opened their doors once again prioritizing fresh, local, and seasonal items on the menu.

“The Stagecoach established itself as a welcoming rest stop on the Chisholm Trail for weary travelers over 160 years ago and that southern hospitality continues today,” said Rusty Winkstern of Monument Group. “We want to honor that legacy with genuine hospitality and crave-worthy food and drink, continuing the tradition as a community hub for visitors old and new.”

The Stagecoach Restaurant reopens with reimagined versions of old favorites that were conceptualized when the restaurant first opened, such as the famous hushpuppies. Diners will enjoy down home cooking throughout the day. Menu highlights include a goat cheese dip appetizer, fried chicken salad, grilled bone-in pork chop with peach chutney, as well as seasonally inspired, and weekend only specials such as prime rib. Pairing nicely with any of the entrees will be an inviting bar experience that includes expertly researched cocktails, a thoughtful wine selection, as well as rotating local and favorite beers on tap.

The Stagecoach Restaurant is open for lunch & dinner Wednesday-Sunday from 11:30am-8pm. They also have specialty coffee and light fare for breakfast that includes pastries, muffins, and tacos seven-days-a-week from 7:30am-11:30am. Located in Texas’ second oldest continuously operating hotel, the restaurant serves as a living testament to the state’s hospitality. The Stagecoach Inn, established in 1860, has welcomed travelers for over 160 years — from wagon pioneers to modern-day tourists.
