The Rock, Ribs & Ridges festival will celebrate its milestone 10th anniversary this summer by “having a party” with Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes co-headlining with Southern rock powerhouse 38 Special.
Presented by Franklin Sussex Auto Mall, the annual summer bash offers two days of great music and mouthwatering BBQ as legendary artists and top competitive rib teams from around the country heat up the outdoor concert season. With a decades-long successful career, Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes continue to deliver their soul-searing brand of raucous blues and R&B, with material mined from their many albums, featuring hits like “I Don’t Want To Go Home,” “Love On The Wrong Side Of Town,” “The Fever,” “This Time It’s For Real,” “Talk To Me” and their definitive fun-time cover of “We’re Having A Party.” The Jukes’ legendary high-energy live performances always satisfy with their classic blend of Stax Records-influenced R&B and gritty, rock and roll.
38 Special continues to amaze audiences across the globe with their explosive power and their signature blast of Southern Rock. Among those joining Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes on Sunday, June 30 are The Outlaws (“There Goes Another Love Song,” “Green Grass & High Tides,” “Ghost Riders of the Sky”) and The Marshall Tucker Band. (“Heard It in a Love Song,” “Can’t You See”).
The lineup on Saturday, June 29 features 38 Special, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Artimus Pyle (“Sweet Home Alabama,” “Freebird”, “Gimme Three Steps”), and Blackfoot. Additional bands will be added to the weekend lineup.
Rock, Ribs & Ridges attendees also have the rare opportunity to enjoy award-winning barbecue served up by the five pitmasters and competitive rib teams who will be competing in a juried rib cook-off for the coveted titles of “Best Ribs” and “Best Sauce.” Menus include full and half racks of ribs, brisket, pulled pork, chicken, and plenty of side dishes including corn bread and mac and cheese.
