Organic pizza chain rallies local communities to aide replanting of nation’s forests via Arbor Day Foundation
Pizza Fusion, America’s socially responsible pizza chain, will make a donation to the Arbor Day Foundation to help plant 1,000 trees in the nation’s forests.
Each year, Pizza Fusion supports a different environmental non-profit as part of its Earth Day initiative. This year, the altruistic pizza chain pledged to plant one tree for every pizza sold on Earth Day. A total of 1,000 pizzas were sold at eight participating Pizza Fusion locations.
“The Pizza Fusion family strives to put people and the planet first, in all we do. For us, Earth Day is a very special opportunity to invite everyone to join us in making a difference,” said Vaughan Lazar, CEO and co-founder of Pizza Fusion. “We are proud to partner with our communities and the Arbor Day Foundation in giving back, especially during this unusual time of need.”
Due to the rise in wildfires, the Arbor Day Foundation is answering the heightened call to replant our nation’s forests. According to the U.S. Forest Service, more than one million acres of America’s national forests need to be replanted. Responsible for protecting our nation’s forests, the U.S. Forest Service’s budget has been dedicated to extinguishing the fires. The Arbor Day Foundation works directly with the U.S. Forest Service to plant trees in the forests of greatest need.
