Odyssey Theatre hosts open house, dinner and a show on Friday, Aug. 26
Odyssey Theatre Ensemble will host the Good Greek Grub gourmet food truck in a special event to coincide with its production of Go Back To Where You Are, a gentle comedy by five-time Obie Award-winner David Greenspan that features a 2000-year-old Greek thespian sent back to Earth on a mission from God.
The truck, which serves traditional Greek street food including gyros, souvlaki, Greek salads and “Zeus” fries, will be stationed outside the theater at 2055 S. Sepulveda Blvd. (between Olympic and Santa Monica Blvds) from 5:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 26.
Patrons are invited to arrive early to enjoy dinner and a show. Members of the public who wish to dine but don’t have tickets will be invited in for a tour of the venue. Tables and seating are available on the theater’s outside deck and in the lobby.
Go Back To Where You Are is a comic romance in which a forgotten chorus boy from the theater of ancient Greece finds himself summering among a makeshift family of theater artists on Long Island. The Odyssey’s production marks the West Coast premiere. It features Bill Brochtrup, John Fleck, Shannon Holt, Justin Huen, Jeffrey Hutchinson and Andrew Walke, and is directed byBart DeLorenzo.
