For the first time, ProWein 2013, International Trade Fair Wines and Spirits, will feature a central lecture forum. At the “ProWein Forum” in Hall 7.1, exhibitors will organize seminars and hosted tasting sessions which will be free of charge for the trade visitors. To be held from March 24 – 26, 2013 in Düsseldorf, Germany, ProWein will present over 4,000 exhibitors from some 50 nations in nine exhibition halls. In addition to the unique international range, visitors can look forward to a first-class ancillary program: the ProWein Forum with numerous seminars, the Central Tasting Zone with over 1,000 wines available for tasting and the FIZZZ-Lounge with a colorful range of cocktails. In addition, ProWein exhibitors will also stage lectures and tasting sessions at their stands.
With the topic “Fashionable and Leading Varieties in International Wine Cultivation”, the Central Tasting Zone in Hall 2 will offer wines from ProWein exhibitors from around the world. Eight white and eight red wines have been approved for tasting. The white wine varieties will be Riesling, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Grauburgunder (Pinot Grigio) and Weißburgunder (Pinot Blanc) as well as Grüner Veltliner, Viognier and Verdejo. The red wines must derive solely from Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Shiraz, Grenache, Sangiovese, Tempranillo/Tinta Roriz and Blaufränkisch/Lemberger.
In addition to the Central Tasting Zone in Hall 2, Hall 7.1 will again feature a special tasting zone for award-winning organic wines. As part of the concentrated platform for organic wines, exhibitors from France, Spain, Italy and South Africa will offer their latest creations.
In the FIZZZ-Lounge located in Hall 7a (spirits hall), classic cocktails such as Swimming Pool, and Pink Elephant will undergo a revival 25 years after the cult film “Cocktail”. Professionals will showcase modern versions of these legendary classics, supported by daily bartending shows.
All international wine producing nations and regions will be represented at ProWein 2013. Renowned wine producer as well as up-and-coming “newcomers” and suppliers of top-notch spirits use this leading trade fair to present their products to decision-makers from the worldwide retail and catering sectors. New in 2013 will be a joint participation from Tunisia as well as the English Wine Producers’ stand.
