Bakery café is sixth to open as part of 18-store agreement with Rouse Properties
It’s a childhood staple that’s as American as apple pie, and its mouthwatering aroma has an uncanny way of triggering memories instilled by generations of mothers and grandmothers who know what it means to bake with love.
Fortunately, children of all ages can now relive their warm memories of chocolate chip cookies baking in the oven at the Grand Traverse Mall, thanks to the arrival of a new Nestlé Toll House Café by Chip. The popular bakery café chain opened there this week and will host an official grand opening this Saturday to introduce its bevy of confectionary delights to hungry customers.
The celebration will take place from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. on April 12 at the kiosk located in the center court of the Grand Traverse Mall, and will feature coupon discounts, photo opportunities and meet-and-greets with Traverse City Hounds’ hockey players and a special appearance by the Nesquik Bunny himself.
Franchisees Beth Harris and Noella Korte said they have been waiting for this opportunity for a long time. They are quickly building a reputation for serving up smiles to bustling shoppers with their freshly baked treats and delicious specialty coffees.
“When shoppers notice our kiosk for the first time, they are instantly drawn in. After all, who doesn’t enjoy taking a refreshing break with a sweet treat and cup of coffee? The two go hand-in-hand,” Harris said. “Our new kiosk is beautiful, too. I can already tell it’s going to be a very popular addition to the Grand Traverse Mall.”
Nestlé Toll House Café by Chip serves up freshly baked cookies, premium Nescafe Milano coffee, ice cream and a wide array of delectable treats. The Traverse City location is the sixth of 18 new cafés set to open this year under a long-term master lease agreement signed in October 2013 with Rouse Properties, Inc. (NYSE: RSE), a national owner and operator of regional enclosed malls.
The Grand Traverse Mall is one of the first malls across the country to showcase Nestlé Toll House Café’s enhanced kiosk concept, which includes comfortable seating, digital menus displayed on eight LED screens and an upgraded design that showcases the brand’s distinctive product offerings in a more efficient and attractive manner. Bar seating is also available around the sides of the kiosk, as well as tables and soft seating in the adjacent area.
The premium dessert destination concept is built around the world’s most powerful food brand – Nestlé. Along with its universally loved Nestlé Toll House cookies and cookie cakes, the new café serves brownies, muffins, smoothies, ice creams and Nescafé Milano coffee. The café is also a great lunch option, thanks to its made-to-order Crepes and Panini sandwiches.
The Traverse City Mall café, located at 3200 S. Airport Road West, is the eighth café in Michigan and the 125th Nestlé Toll House Café system-wide.
