LA-based television host and producer Jezlan Moyet launches namesake rosé brand.

Jezlan Moyet is the epitome of the California woman: beautiful, talented, and ambitious with a discerning palate. She loves rosé wine and launched her own rosé brand, Moyet Rosé, as her first namesake rosé last year. Her signature wine is a beautifully light central coast rosé produced and bottled by The House of Moyet and Blendtique Wine Company.

Moyet is a Los Angeles-based entertainment and lifestyle correspondent. Originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan, she has brought her midwestern charm to all of her world-wide experiences on the red carpet to runways. Moyet has interviewed over 500 notable influencers, celebrities, and pop culture phenoms, as seen on Forbes, New YorkTimes, HBO, and Netflix. Recently, Moyet partnered with EverTalkTV to co-create, produce, and host America’s first live-streaming daily talk show, Good Morning LaLa Land, on Apple TV + ROKU.

Experienced with the hospitality industry and working with celebs, Moyet “really appreciates the art and community of great wines. I wanted to launch my own wine brand and share with my community, including tipping it at the red carpet, celebrating at the award shows, and toasting to success.”

Moyet is not alone with her appreciation of rosé wine. According to Nielsen, rosé is the fastest-growing major wine category. Reports of off-premise sales of rosé wine in January 2016 were valued at about $151 million, and as of January 2020, sales rose to over $576 million—a 281 percent increase.

“There is a rosé culture with hashtag #roseallday. The wine is about positive, high-five vibe and good times with a delightful taste,” she explains.

She partnered with Billy Dim, the founder of Blendtique that works with wine lovers to create their own signature (and custom) wine and brand. Fun fact: Dim appeared on Shark Tank in 2017 and partnered with “shark” Lori Greiner.

Moyet approached Dim to develop a true rosé wine from Santa Barbara, California, as the quintessential California rosé. Blendtique produces the wine as an exclusive for The House of Moyet.

California rosé pairs well with French cheese, cucumbers, freshly cut strawberries, and grapes. For the summer months, chill the rosé for a refreshing drink during climbing temperatures.

Moyet Rosé: A Wine Celebrating the NameSpiked Sorbet Float
In collaboration with Nealy Fischer, The Flexible Chef

Ingredients:
4 ounces Moyet Rosé
2 ounces gin
Honey
Crystallized sugar
A large cube of ice
Raspberry sorbet

Rim your favorite wine glass or tumbler with honey. Dip the honey rim into crystallized sugar (a great way to add a colorful touch that compliments your tablescape or theme). Add enough raspberry sorbet to fill 1/2 glass. Pour Moyet Rosé and gin over a large cube of ice to make the float.

Rosé is a wine incorporating colors from the grape skins, and it may be the oldest known type of wine. It is labeled rosé in English-, French-, and Portuguese-speaking countries, Rosato in Italian, and rosado in Spanish. It is celebrated on International Rosé Day on June 13 (second Saturday of June each year). Still, some believe rosé got a bad rep from a low-priced boxed wine heavily marketed as “rosé.”
