Wine Industry PR and Communications Leader Takes the Helm
Marybeth Bentwood has assumed responsibility as Executive Director at Wines of Chile USA. In her new position, she will be responsible for managing marketing and communication strategies and programs for the group of 85 member wineries while working collaboratively with importers of these wines. Prior to joining Wines of Chile, she held the role of Director of Public Relations at Kobrand Corp., a U.S. wine importer.
According to Wines of Chile’s Managing Director, Claudio Cilveti, “The Board felt Marybeth’s track record of success directing Public Relations at Kobrand, building her own PR agency prior to that, and her familiarity with Chile and fluency in Spanish served the organization’s U.S. goals particularly well.”
“Building on the accomplishments and momentum of the organization in the U.S., I aim to broaden the awareness among consumers and the trade of Chilean wine’s unique strengths,” remarked Bentwood. “The American market is showing growth in the $12-$20 price category and that’s a segment in which our wineries unequivocally over-deliver on quality.”
Ms. Bentwood will work out of the Wines of Chile USA office located at Puro Chile at 221 Centre St. in Manhattan.
