Patti Deil – a seasoned professional with more than 30 years of experience in the hotel catering industry – has been tapped to serve as the new director of catering at Marriott Syracuse Downtown.
“Patti’s proven track record in the hospitality industry will make her a strong asset to our team,” said General Manager Todd Plouffe. “We’re excited to work with Patti, and we look forward to seeing how her impressive skill set will enhance the guest experience at Marriott Syracuse Downtown.”
Most recently, Deil served as director of catering for the Buffalo Niagara Marriott in Amherst, New York, where she successfully facilitated the preparation and analysis of catering sales totaling $2.5 million. Prior to her work in Amherst, she held the position of director of catering and convention services at the Hyatt Regency in Buffalo, New York. In that role, she was an active member of the executive committee tasked with making vital business decisions for the hotel.
Before moving into more senior level roles, Deil honed her abilities in sales and operations at properties such as Scottsdale Marriott Suites, Marriott’s Camelback Resort, Marriott’s Mountain Shadow’s Resort and Buffalo Niagara Marriott. For four years she worked as a catering sales manager for Raleigh Marriott Crabtree Valley, successfully executing hundreds of major meetings and events.
Deil earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration from the State University of Buffalo in Buffalo, New York.
