Hawaii Born Chef to Create Healthy Island Inspired Menu Items

Mana Meals, a healthy meal delivery company on Maui, announces the hiring of a new chef, Allen Rimorin. As the head chef for this growing meal delivery company, Rimorin will develop new menu items as well as work with local farmers and purveyors to bring the freshest and best ingredients to customers.

“We’re thrilled to bring Chef Rimorin aboard,” said Tom Ockerman, co-owner of Mana Meals. “His passion for food and healthy twist on cooking Hawaiian, Filipino and Japanese cuisine will surely elevate our existing menu.”

Born to Filipino parents, Chef Rimorin’s love of cooking was ignited as a child on Maui watching his mother cook Asian inspired dishes and soups for the family. Rimorin brings over 16 years of culinary experience to Mana Meals. At the age of 16, Rimorin began cooking at Roy’s in Kihei, an experience that would help frame his knowledge of Pacific Rim fine dining cuisine. Prior to joining Mana Meals, Rimorin spent time at another award winning restaurant Nick’s Fishmarket where he learned to prepare Italian, French and Portugese cuisine. Other cooking experience includes working at Tommy Bahama in Wailea, 5 Palms, Sarento’s on the Beach, Sansei Kihei, Grand Wailea and most recently Hula Grill Kaanapali.

“I’m thrilled to join the Mana Meals ohana and help develop a more robust menu for Maui residents,” says Chef Allen Rimorin. “The new recipes will feature more local ingredients, flavorful sauces and vinaigrettes as well as recipes from my childhood.”

New menu highlights include Garlic Lemon Chicken which consists of lean chicken breast marinated in lemon, garlic and spices, Misoyaki Mahi-Mahi a Japanese dish marinated in Miso, Garlic Pepper Shrimp and a Korean Grilled Steak. In addition, Mana Meals customers can expect a variety of new soup, salads and snack items.
