Mad Dog & Beans Mexican Cantina Grand Opening
The Financial District’s favorite Mexican restaurant is taking over Midtown Celebrate with tequila samplings and huge giveaways!
Midtown, Manhattan — The owners behind the casual-upscale Mexican restaurant Mad Dog & Beans Mexican Cantina on Stone Street in New York City’s Financial District have just opened a new Midtown location at 5 East 38th Street, replacing the prior bar, “Butterfield 8”. Mad Dog & Beans features a traditional Mexican menu and is known throughout Manhattan for its made-to-order guacamole and famous Mad Dog Margaritas made with freshly squeezed citrus juices, premium tequila, and citrus liqueurs.
The Midtown location will have a menu similar to the original location, including their notorious Mad Dog Margarita Tower. The tower is a whopping 100-oz and serves ten glasses, perfect for large groups. Flavors available include Blood Orange, Blackberry, Coconut, Mango, Passion Fruit, Pomegranate, Raspberry, Electric Blue, and Strawberry. Some exciting additions to new restaurant include draft Mexican beers, including their very own MDB lager.
Mad Dog & Beans on 38th Street is the only restaurant in NYC to carry tequila on tap. Flights of the 4 tequilas on tap, Sauza Blue Blanco, Hornitos Reposado, Tres Generaciones Añejo, and El Tesoro Extra Añejo, are available for patrons who want to give them all a try. The Midtown location features a diverse Mezcal cocktail menu. The “Naked & Famous” and “Zapatero” are made by using a blowtorch on hickory wood to fill the glass with smoke, creating a delicious smoky mezcal cocktail. Mad Dog & Beans carries over 100 different tequilas.
The restaurant is now open after having their soft launch on Cinco de Mayo. Mad Dog & Beans will be holding their Grand Opening event on Wednesday, June 21st, a great way to celebrate the first day of Summer. There will be a complimentary tequila tasting from 6-8PM and tons of Summer themed prizes and giveaways including a BBQ grill, beach chairs, pool floats, a bicycle and more!
