New Raw Honeys, Sustainable Cooking Oils and Syrup Will Help Support Company’s Social Initiatives
GloryBee—family owned, operated and a leading provider of all-natural honey, sweeteners, spices, dried fruits, nuts and oils—will debut a variety of new products under its two brands, GloryBee Honey and Aunt Patty’s, at the upcoming Natural Products Expo West. GloryBee will introduce five new raw honey flavors, and Aunt Patty’s adds two new cooking oils and a new syrup. Sales of all eight products will support the brands’ two social initiatives, Save the Bee, for GloryBee, and Food for Health, for Aunt Patty’s.
“Since 1975, we have sourced and provided natural and organic ingredients to help people live a healthy lifestyle,” said RaeJean Wilson, Vice President of Stewardship and Brand Alignment, and daughter of company founders Richard and Pat Turanski. “The new products not only extend the partnership we have with our customers by expanding our offerings and continuing to provide high quality products they can trust, but also provide them with new ways to support a healthier planet.”
GloryBee is passionate about its social initiatives, which raise money through product sales to support causes aligned with the company’s values. GloryBee’s Save the Bee helps fund honey bee research to determine and eliminate the cause of collapsing bee colonies in the United States, while Aunt Patty’s Food for Health helps fund coalitions that work to increase awareness and education about causes and effects of childhood obesity.
GloryBee
Started in the garage of two beekeepers nearly 40 years ago, GloryBee now offers a wide variety of all natural, 100 percent pure honeys, rich in minerals and nutrients. GloryBee sources its honey from both Pacific Northwest beekeepers and various other cooperatives of small beekeepers that ensure the bees are well treated and the honey is high quality.
GloryBee’s new honey flavors are all raw, meaning the honey has not been heated above 115o Fahrenheit, pasteurized or processed in any way allowing the honey to retain a more creamy texture. Raw honey contains bee pollen, natural vitamins, enzymes, antioxidants and other important natural nutrients.
The new GloryBee raw honey flavors include the following:
- Raw California Orange Blossom – Made in flowering California orange groves, this honey has a fruity and sweet citrus flavor. Perfect over yogurt or as a salad dressing ingredient. MSRP: $11.50 for 18 oz.
- Raw Mountain Wildflower – Sourced from the Pacific Northwest, Raw Mountain Wildflower offers a rich, floral flavor. A favorite among bakers for the flavor and aroma it brings to recipes. MSRP: $10.50 for 18 oz.
- Raw Organic Tropical Blossom – Harvested in remote tropical regions around the world, this is a very flavorful, multi-floral honey that is delicious right out of the jar. MSRP: $10.50 for 18 oz.
- Raw Pacific Northwest Clover – Premium honey with a light flavor and amber color, this is the high quality raw version of the honey everyone knows and loves. MSRP: $11.50 for 18 oz.
- Raw Pacific Northwest Raspberry – A flavorful complement to tea, this lightly sweet Northwest honey has a mild floral essence. MSRP: $11.50 for 18 oz.
In addition to the debut of the new raw honey flavors, GloryBee will introduce a new look at Expo West. The brand’s new logo, which is intended to better represent the essence of GloryBee, features an image of a bee as a focal point. The new look will be carried across the packaging for all GloryBee product lines, including jars, bear bottles, HoneyStix and natural supplements. The new imagery will also be applied to all digital elements, including the GloryBee website.
Bees are at the heart of GloryBee’s mission, and the company’s roots are deeply embedded in the beekeeping community. With bees being so crucial to the world’s ecosystems, the company donates one percent of GloryBee’s annual retail sales to its own Save the Bee initiative, which helps fund research to determine and eliminate the cause of Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD). CCD is a growing problem in the United States and contributes to the loss of beehives across the country. Bees pollinate one third of crops in the United States, and with the number of bees declining, GloryBee stresses how important it is to “Save the Bee” to ensure plants are pollinated and food crops are abundant and useful.
Aunt Patty’s
Named after GloryBee co-founder Pat Turanski, the Aunt Patty’s brand offers a variety of baking ingredients, dried fruits and nuts, oils and vinegars, natural sweeteners and more. The Aunt Patty’s brand was born from Pat’s passion for cooking and baking and her choice to provide her family with more natural ingredients for healthy living.
The new Aunt Patty’s products include the following:
- Organic Red Palm Oil – Certified USDA organic and non-GMO, this palm oil is sustainability collected, produced and processed to meet organic standards so no rainforests or animal habitats are harmed during farming or harvest. Red palm oil complements favorite grain dishes, spreads, sauces and soups. MSRP: $7.95 for 11.5 oz.
- Organic Fair Trade Unrefined Extra Virgin Coconut Oil – A perfect cooking oil for stir fry or as a baking ingredient, coconut oil is nutrient-dense and a great way to get healthy fats. Aunt Patty’s Coconut Oil is non-GMO, certified USDA organic and fair trade. MSRP: $7.95 for 12 oz.
- Maguey Syrup – Maguey is the juice evaporated from the flower of the Agave Salmiana plant in Mexico and is a traditional organic/unrefined raw sweetener full of vitamins, minerals and amino acids. With a rich, caramel-like flavor, maguey syrup is ideal for sweetening desserts, salad dressings, sauces, yogurt, tea and more. MSRP: $9.99 for 16 oz.
GloryBee donates one percent of annual retail sales from the Aunt Patty’s brand to its own Food for Health initiative, which works to eliminate childhood obesity. Food for Health supports coalitions that increase awareness and educate the public about the causes and effects of childhood obesity. These same coalitions also work to promote an active lifestyle for children.
GloryBee will formally unveil all eight new products and the new look at Natural Products Expo West, March 7-9, 2014, in Anaheim, Calif. Those interested in sampling the new products may do so at the GloryBee booth, #3488.
