Award-winning winemaker visits from France to showcase limited vintages at laV alongside five course meal from Executive Chef Jenkins
On Tuesday June 24th, laV Restaurant & Wine Bar is excited to welcome dynamic young winemaker Benoit Trocard for a special dinner featuring his Clos Dubreuil wines from a grand cru vineyard in the St. Emilion appellation of Bordeaux. The five course dinner prepared by laV’s Executive Chef Allison Jenkins will be paired with exceptional vintages of Clos Dubreuil.
The limited production wines are not found on lists, with laV being the only restaurant in Texas to feature the vintages served at the dinner. A rare opportunity to taste such a collection, laV is opening 20 seats for the intimate experience.
Lauded for its one-a-kind look by award-winning design team McAlpine Booth & Ferrier Interiors, as well as for the exceptional talent at the helm of its culinary and beverage programs, laV offers the most robust wine list in Austin. With something for every palate and price range, the list was carefully crafted and curated by both Advanced Sommelier Vilma Mazaite and laV Owner Ralph Eads. The Clos Dubreuil vintages add to the breadth of the list and are a great example of the rare and exceptional wines that make-up laV’s wine program.
“It’s a great honor to have Benoit join us at laV. It is not every day that guests get to experience his great wines, and hear the insights of a 14th generation winemaker” said Eads. “Those that are familiar with Clos Dubreuil will understand how special this dinner will be and for those who have yet to try wines in this style and from this region are in for a treat. We look forward to sharing the experience of tasting these great wines as they are perfectly complemented by Allison’s fare.”
Benoit Trocard grew up with a profound curiosity for wine, as his family has owned and operated vineyards since the early 1600s. At just five years old, he was smelling wine vats and at 12, was learning cooperage from his grandfather. In 2003, the savvy young businessman purchased Clos Dubreuil, a 1.5 hectare estate to show his style of winemaking and highlight such a special terroir in the St. Emilion appellation and in 2011, won the Grand Cru competition. The world-renowned oenologist, Michel Rolland, consults on the winemaking for all of the vintages.
The Clos Dubreuil dinner at laV is a ticketed event. Dinner begins at 6:30 in the restaurant’s main dining room and will feature:
