HYATT CENTRIC CONGRESS AVENUE AUSTIN UNVEILS TWO NEW DINING CONCEPTS OPENING THIS FALL

Hyatt Centric Congress Avenue Austin announced today the anticipated launch of its two new food and beverage concepts. The first-floor restaurant, The Tradition, An American Kitchen, and the 8th floor rooftop bar, Heydey Social Club, are set to open on September 27, 2024. Just a few blocks away from the Texas Capitol and next door to the historic Paramount Theatre, Hyatt Centric Austin’s new restaurant and bar will be ideal destinations to wine and dine in downtown Austin.

The Tradition, An American Kitchen, is a full-service restaurant rooted in American cuisine with global influences, offering a lively downtown dining destination where Austin locals and visitors alike can come together to enjoy a delicious, approachable yet elevated meal in a warm and inviting atmosphere. Conveniently located on the ground floor of the hotel, The Tradition, An American Kitchen, is a welcoming option for anyone in the neighborhood to drop in for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Heydey Social Club, with seating options both indoors and outside on the 8th floor terrace with gorgeous views of the city, will be the perfect spot for golden hour hangs and downtown after-work drinks and bites.

“We can’t wait to welcome everyone to Heydey Social Club and The Tradition, two exciting new additions to Austin’s downtown restaurant and bar scenes,” says Harrison Compton, general manager at Hyatt Centric Congress Avenue Austin. “Each concept is designed to create a relaxed atmosphere that reflects the vibrant spirit of Austin, where guests can enjoy delicious dishes and drinks while experiencing the essence of our city.”

Executive Chef Iain Reddick will oversee the hotel’s food & beverage program and the menu at both The Tradition, An American Kitchen, and Heydey Social Club. He joined the hotel team this spring, having previously held positions at The Driskill in Austin and before that the Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach and Resort Spa in Clearwater, Florida and Hyatt Regency Downtown Tampa in Tampa, Florida.

The menu at The Tradition, An American Kitchen, celebrates the essence of Americana with a playful twist, utilizing fresh, high-quality ingredients and diverse flavors. Guests will recognize some classic, comforting staples along with touches of global inspiration. Breakfast will present menu items from Horchata Overnight Oats, Daily Green Juice and Avocado Toast to staples like the Traditional Benedict and playful twists on the American breakfast like the Brisket Omelet.

Lunch and dinner at The Tradition, An American Kitchen, will feature lighter fare like the Texas Wedge and Rotisserie Chicken Chinois salad, as well as expertly crafted hand rolls. A selection of sandwiches will be available during lunch and dinner service including the Classic Smash Burger, Seared Tuna Sandwich and Brisket Sandwich. The dinner menu also caters to diners looking for reliable, comforting mains like Steak Frites and Lonestar Braised Short Ribs. There’s also a Salmon Oscar with crab, hollandaise and poached asparagus as well as a decked-out BBQ Board with jalapeno cheddar sausage, brisket, BBQ chicken, slaw, pickles, BBQ-spiced corn on the cob and Dr. Pepper BBQ sauce. The beverage program will include classic-inspired cocktails highlighting Texas spirits, wines from well-known varietals and regions, and local beers.

On the 8th floor of the hotel, Heydey Social Club will serve as Hyatt Centric Austin’s new European-inspired cocktail bar also sporting a mid-century modern, retro feel in a design with touches reminiscent of the American southwest. This cheerful and bright indoor-outdoor space with sweeping views of the Austin skyline will offer a variety of light bites, specialty cocktails, beer, wine, and other nonalcoholic beverages. With seasonal takes on craft cocktails and aperitif style drinks, it’s a great place to grab a drink after work with coworkers and friends or before catching a show downtown at one of the amazing venues and historic theatres.

In addition to the beverages, Heydey’s dishes include the Heydey Sampler with local meat and cheese, marinated olives, artichokes, pickled mushroom, spicy relish, and pickled peppers; Whipped Herbed Ricotta with spicy hot honey and warm bread; Steak Tartare with truffle chips, pickled mustard seed, and Dijon aioli; Crab Arancini with Meyer lemon, and tarragon “bearnaise”; and more.

The Tradition, An American Kitchen, will be open from 7am to 9pm serving breakfast from 7am to 11am, lunch from 11am to 3pm, happy hour from 3pm to 5pm and dinner from 5pm to close at 9pm.
