HOUSTON-BASED ADAIR CONCEPTS TO EXPAND IN TEXAS; BELOVED HOSPITALITY GROUP BRINGS THREE SIGNATURE RESTAURANTS TO SAN ANTONIO AND FREDERICKSBURG

Adair Concepts, a family-owned, neighborhood-focused restaurant group, will soon expand out of its Houston backyard starting with the 2024 opening of signature restaurant Los Tios in Fredericksburg, followed by the unveilings of Adair Kitchen and Los Tios in San Antonio in early 2025.

The Adair Concepts family makes its first steps out of the Bayou City by joining the vibrant, Hill Country community of Fredericksburg later this year. The city’s first Los Tios (the brand’s seventh location in total) will open at 203 E. San Antonio St., occupying the former August E’s Restaurant in a 5,000-square-foot structure in the heart of the town’s historic district.

A Houston Tex-Mex legacy brand – famous for its signature puffy queso and introducing the Bayou City to the pleasures of the frozen margarita – Los Tios joined the Adair portfolio in 2000 and has grown to six Houston restaurants. Featuring hand-crafted dishes invested with Tex-Mex authenticity and a vibrant, family-friendly atmosphere, Los Tios has been a fixture on the city’s dining scene since 1970.

For the Adair family, Fredericksburg was also an obvious first choice for growth: Nick Adair and his wife Alice own and operate the town’s popular Trueheart Hotel, a 13-room boutique inn exuding Southern hospitality.

“Having already-established roots in Fredericksburg heavily encouraged our decision to expand into the area,” said Adair Concepts President, Nick Adair. “We look forward to serving families and friends with great Tex-Mex in an environment that further adds to the community’s unique charm.”

Adair Concepts’ momentum continues in the historic city of San Antonio, a place particularly suited to the group’s style of comfortable, family-oriented dining. Personal ties to the Alamo City and a longtime appreciation of its eclectic dining culture were major factors in the decision to plant a flag in the nation’s seventh largest metropolis.

“We have tremendous affection for San Antonio and can’t wait to be part of a community so rich in history and passionate about food,” Adair added. “We’re incredibly appreciative of the warm welcome we’ve already received and eager to begin this next chapter of our restaurant group here.”

Adair Kitchen, an all-day-dining restaurant with a comfort food menu marked by a commitment to quality ingredients, will take up residence in the former Jim’s Restaurant at 4108 Broadway in early 2025. Just north of downtown and in close proximity to Alamo Heights, the location is an ideal fit for a concept that takes diners from breakfast (farm-fresh egg dishes, chicken and waffles, breakfast tacos, and a coffee and juice bar) to lunch (salads, grain bowls, sandwiches, burgers, tacos and wraps) and dinner (steak frites, grilled salmon, pecan-crusted baked chicken and green chile chicken enchiladas). The 4,000-square-foot site, currently undergoing extensive renovations, will be the company’s third Adair Kitchen.

An additional Los Tios will also be unveiled in San Antonio during spring of 2025, located just steps away from sister restaurant Adair Kitchen, in the 5,500-square-foot space located at 4820 Broadway, former La Madeleine.

While firmly part of Houston traditions and foodways, Adair Concepts looks forward to future expansion beyond its hometown borders with restaurants built on classic, quality staples and that prize loyalty, family and familiarity.
