EAST MEETS WEST AS HO– USE OF MACAU OPENS IN HOLLYWOOD
Music Mogul Manny Halley’s Newest Venture Offers An Opulent Macanese Dining Experience
LOS ANGELES, CA (July 2, 2015) House of Macau, the newest restaurant from entrepreneur and music mogul Manny Halley, epitomizes the ultimate ‘East meets West’ vibe with its modern take on classic Macanese fare in a sleek Hollywood setting. Classic Asian traditions and Macanese culture meet 21st century Los Angeles at the new restaurant and lounge. House of Macau represents the first Macanese restaurant in Los Angeles and offers a swanky atmosphere for those looking for the consummate Hollywood experience. The restaurant, which transitions into a late night scene after hours, offers something totally different than the other neighborhood spots. Under the direction of Executive Chef Christoffer Binotto, previously of Japonais by Morimoto and Michelin-Starred restaurant Graham Elliot, House of Macau is poised for success with both the late night crowd and Los Angeles’ culinary elite.
The design of House of Macau was overseen by owner Halley and draws on the luxurious vibe of Macau itself. A thread of vibrant red ties the multi-level space together and complements the dark and glamourous elements of the space. Housed steps from the W Hollywood, the restaurant seats 140 indoors and 60 outdoors; and features two cocktail bars, a raw bar, a sprawling outdoor patio complete with fire pit, private dining room and multiple entrances – several of which are private for VIP clients. “We wanted to offer multiple dining experiences that cater to locals, visitors and late night crowds,” says Halley. “The food and cocktails represent the energy and flavors of Macau as translated to L.A.”
House of Macau’s menu features several cold small plates meant for sharing such as the Caviar Canapés with Golden Blini, Yuzu Crème Fraiche, Shallot and Egg White and Crispy Rice with Uni, Sweet Soy and Chocolate. Hot small plates such as the Fire Cracker Shrimp Toast with Lemon Chile Garlic Sauce and Micro Cilantro and the Jasmine Tea Smoked Pork Baby Back Riblets with Hoisin BBQ Sauce are available as well.
