HOTEL REVIVAL REVIVES FIRST-FLOOR RESTAURANT SPACE WITH NEW CAFÉ NAMED ‘DASHERY, EXPECTED TO OPEN IN THE SECOND QUARTER OF 2021

After what has been almost a year of turbulence for the hospitality industry, the award-winning Hotel Revival, a Joie de Vivre hotel located in the heart of Baltimore’s historic Mount Vernon neighborhood, today announced plans for the renovation and reopening of its first-floor restaurant space, previously known as Square Meal. The concept, ‘Dashery, is slated to open in the second quarter of 2021.

“The hospitality industry has endured the unthinkable this past year. We feel fortunate to bring this new concept to life as Baltimore starts to rebuild,” said Donte Johnson, general manager of Hotel Revival.

Short for haberdashery, ‘Dashery recalls the cross stitch interior element and has a playful air, evoking imagery of hotel guests dashing in to grab a cup of coffee before dashing out to explore the city. ‘Dashery is a one-stop shop for breakfast and coffee on-the-go as well as an intimate space where guests can take a quick rest before carrying on with their day.

‘Dashery will be managed and operated by Infuse Hospitality, a company that develops best-in-class hospitality solutions for hotels, commercial buildings, offices and traditional retail spaces. Founded in 2016, Infuse Hospitality has opened over 60 locations across 26 states and Canada, including its notable flagship cafe concept, Fairgrounds Coffee & Tea, a first-of-its-kind coffeehouse experience that offers a dozen craft coffee roasters and specialty teas under one roof.

“Hotel Revival has been an incredible addition to the Baltimore community since opening, with its seamless embrace of the city’s culture and true hospitality,” said Michael Schultz, CEO of Infuse Hospitality. “‘Dashery will perfectly complement the hotel’s chic yet comfortable vibe and provide an inviting place for guests and locals to enjoy an expertly crafted cup of coffee and delicious chef-made fare.”

The restaurant was designed by Streetsense, a multidisciplinary design and strategy firm specializing in retail, restaurant, hospitality, and real estate solutions. SM+P are the leading architects and HITT is the general contractor.

Within the first few weeks that the majority of the United States shut down as a result of the pandemic, Hotel Revival quickly shifted its focus to the needs of the surrounding community and offered local food businesses the opportunity to pop-up, rent free, in its Square Meal restaurant space. Several food vendors and small businesses such as The Urban OysterSporty Dog Creations and Fuisine have utilized the kitchen space to prepare food and coordinate delivery and pick-up orders.

This announcement follows the hotel’s addition of Topside Outside, an outdoor dining concept Revival launched adjacent to the entrance of the hotel in the fall of 2020 featuring a Baltimore-themed mural designed by local artist Will Watson. The hotel plans to reactivate its outdoor dining later this year.
