Hotel Per La Celebrates Continued Growth Through Recent Leadership Appointments

Hotel Per La, an Italian-inspired urban escape in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles, announces today three new appointments to its leadership team across the hotel and its dining concepts. On the hotel side, Kayleen Morgan joins the team as the new Director of Sales and Marketing, and George Unseld as the property’s new General Manager, while Joey Roacho transitions from Chef De Cuisine to Executive Chef of Hotel Per La, all bringing extensive experience to each of their new positions.

 

In his new role, Chef Joey will oversee the culinary programming at the hotel’s acclaimed neighborhood restaurant, Ristorante Per L’Ora, its rooftop bar, Bar Clara, daytime coffee house, Café Ora, and the property’s in-room dining. With an extensive culinary journey encompassing previous roles at Los Angeles restaurants Soleto, Perch, and Gusto, in addition to luxury properties such as The Beverly Hills Hotel and the Santa Monica Proper Hotel, Chef Joey brings a wealth of experience to his role. Chef Joey joined the Hotel Per La team when the property opened in October 2022, acting as Chef De Cuisine and showcasing the skills that have moved him into the Executive Chef role. At Hotel Per La, Chef Joey prioritizes a hands-on approach, collaborating with his team to create memorable culinary experiences and differentiate Hotel Per La’s offerings with unique dishes featuring an LA twist such as Street Corn Agnolotti, Diver Scallops, Squash Blossom Tempura, and more.

As Hotel Per La’s General Manager, George Unseld oversees all operations across the property with the overarching goal of creating and maintaining the best guest experience. With a background in hotel management, he jump-started his professional career honing his craft in delivering memorable guest experiences on cruise ships. Additionally, he has worked with notable hotel brands including InterContinental, Rosewood, Viceroy, Kimpton, and independent hotels across the globe. Unseld aims to surpass client expectations while turning innovative concepts into profitable ventures.

With over 10 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Kayleen Morgan brings a wealth of knowledge and refreshing excitement as the new Director of Sales and Marketing. Prior to joining Hotel Per La, Morgan worked with a variety of hotel properties and brands throughout California, including Martin Resorts, Kamla Hotels, and The Hoxton. As part of her new role, Morgan develops and implements sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and increase market share. Additionally, she oversees the development and execution of marketing campaigns across various channels that resonate with audiences to increase brand awareness.
