After weeks of excitement and anticipation, the Park
Family and Warner Hospitality announced today that Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe
will join the Tahoe skyline this ski season. The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe will offer
visitors a unique experience that is designed to capture the essence of Lake Tahoe while
leveraging the globally iconic Hard Rock Hotel & Casino brand.
“We are thrilled to bring a world-class brand to South Lake Tahoe, one that is sure to bring new
energy and excitement to South Lake Tahoe’s entertainment district,” said David Park.
Owned by a subsidiary of the Park family — who have more than a 100-year history in the
region — the new Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe will undergo an approximately $60
million renovation and redesign. The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe will include two
renovated hotel towers with over 500 hotel rooms, several new restaurants and bars, and a
25,000 square foot casino — all designed to incorporate the exciting elements of the Hard Rock
Hotel & Casino brand.
With music at its core, steeped in popular culture and revered as the purveyor of live music
venues, no other brand evokes passion and inspires memorable experiences like the Hard Rock
Hotel & Casino brand. It is the brand’s mission to combine the authenticity of the region with
strong music appreciation to deliver a one-of-a-kind experience.
“The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino brand has music infused in its DNA and is known for celebrating
individuality and uniqueness, which makes it a perfect fit for South Lake Tahoe,” said Jon Park.
In March, the Park family acquired the property formerly known as The Horizon and announced
a partnership with Warner Hospitality. A leader in gaming management, Warner Hospitality
and its affiliated companies manage ten gaming and non-gaming properties throughout the
United States, both in operation and under development. The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino
project in Lake Tahoe marks the company’s entry into the northern Nevada market.
“We are excited that our company’s entry into the northern Nevada market is associated with
the internationally known brand of Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, as well as the Park Family. This,
combined with the majestic and natural beauty of Lake Tahoe, will make for a resort-style
experience like no other,” Bill Warner, CEO of Warner Hospitality, said.
