Proceeds to benefit local shellfisheries
On Wednesday, Feb. 12, Harbor View Hotel and the Martha’s Vineyard Shellfish Group will host Romancing the Oyster, a fundraising dinner dedicated to this classic Vineyard staple. Starting at 6 p.m., guests will gather in Water Street, Harbor View’s fine-dining restaurant, and savor the bounty of the sea as Executive Chef Nathan Gould prepares a selection of delectable dishes that celebrate cultured and wild oysters.
Tickets are priced at $45 per person or $80 per couple and can be purchased online. Proceeds from the event will go to the Shellfish Group, a non-profit organization that works to preserve the Vineyard’s traditional shellfisheries, and the Edgartown Shellfish Growers’ Association.
“Oysters are such an important part of Martha’s Vineyard’s food culture and economy, so we’re really looking forward to teaming up with the Shellfish Group to raise funds towards the continued growth of this industry,” said Gould.
