Glen Eddy, a premier senior living community and affiliate of St. Peter’s Health Partners, recently hosted Chef Bal Arnesonon September 4 as part of Morrison Senior Living’s Celebrity Chef Series. Bal, star of the Cooking Channel’s and Food Network Canada’s program, “Spice Goddess”, drew in more than 80 current and prospective residents with an outside cooking demonstration and specially prepared lunch centered on the flavors of India.
Focused on fresh wholesome ingredients with herbs and exotic spices, Chef Bal’s demonstration included her famous No Butter Chicken, Lentils and Lentil Cookies. During her presentation, Chef Bal captivated the audience through her approach of showing how every cook can achieve and enhance the flavor of their dishes with just “a pinch of this” and that, and some other simple techniques.

In addition to her work as a food personality, Chef Bal recently returned from Singapore following a promotional tour for Oprah and Steven Spielberg’s recently released movie – The Hundred-Foot Journey – for which she served as the head culinary consultant for the film’s vibrant and flavorful menu.
