Pizza lovers east of the state line are about to get a fresh take on the fast-casual phenomenon as Pie Five Pizza makes its debut in the Show Me State this week.
The new restaurant, located at 534 Westport Rd., just one mile east of the Kansas-Missouri line in the Westport Landing Shopping Center, will kick off its grand opening celebration on Friday, Nov. 7with a check presentation to Children’s Mercy Hospital, as the restaurant donates funds raised from in-store training events taking place this week. Doors open at 11 a.m.
Kansas City’s Mix 93.3 morning show hosts Rocket and Teresa will also be onsite that day, adding to the excitement with food and merchandise giveaways throughout the lunch-time rush.
Marking their third Pie Five restaurant in the Kansas City market, local operating partners Kevin and Kerry Goebel note that the trend-setting concept has caught fire in their hometown.
“Having the freedom to create your own customized pizza with as many toppings as you like, for one surprisingly affordable price, has turned legions of pizza lovers across the Kansas City area into Pie Five devotees,” said Kevin. “With our wide selection of cheeses, sauces, meats, vegetables and crusts, you simply can’t go wrong when it comes to making your own perfect pizza at Pie Five.”
While changing the way locals experience pizza, the Goebels are likewise committed to making a big difference for the Kansas City’s pediatric patients. After this week’s events the franchisees will have already donated more than $20,000 to Children’s Mercy Hospital as part of its previous grand openings and its “Mercy Mondays” campaign, and they will continue the tradition with the Westport Landing debut.
Starting Nov. 10, the Westport Pie Five will join the other Kansas City Pie Five restaurants in the “Mercy Mondays” campaign, in which five percent of all sales every Monday are donated to the pediatric health center.
“For years, Children’s Mercy Hospital has been dedicated to redefining pediatric medicine, and its mission is made possible through funding by donors throughout the community,” said Kerry Goebel. “Pie Five is dedicated to supporting that mission and we are happy to be an ongoing advocate for CMH through Mercy Mondays and our latest grand opening.”
At Pie Five, guests can choose from more than a million combinations of handcrafted personal pizzas and a variety of specialty pie choices, all for one affordable price. Add one of our hand-made salads and desserts, prepared fresh every day, and the entire meal will be ready in less than five minutes. The rapidly expanding chain is capitalizing on growing consumer demand for fresh dining options and artisan pizzas in stylish environments without the wait.
