G.S. Gelato, a U.S. manufacturer of artisanal gelato and sorbet for foodservice and retail has recently added nine new flavors to their collection that were Certified Vegan in January 2019 by the Vegan Action/ Awareness Foundation. They are made with plant-based coconut milk and contain no artificial ingredients. As with all certified products, they do not contain dairy, other animal by-products, or GMOs.
“At G.S. Gelato we are constantly researching, testing and formulating the best products for our customers,” says Cameron Lewis, Research & Development Manager of G.S. Gelato. “With a rapidly growing vegan population, it was only natural to offer certified flavors that can be easily recognized by the iconic symbol. Our goal was to create a plant-based product without sacrificing the premium quality and taste that all our flavors possess. The result was a smooth and creamy product just like the gelato and sorbet that we have been crafting for over twenty years.”
The demand for vegan products has quickly been growing and shows no signs of stopping. As the fastest growing segment in the ice cream market, vegan ice cream is predicted to be worth $2.45 billion by 2027.
G.S. Gelato’s Certified flavors include Caramel Sea Salt, Cookie Dough, Chocolate Peanut Butter, Mint Chocolate, White Mint Chocolate, Vanilla, Cold Brew Coffee, Cookies No Cream and Chocolate. All are available as branded and private label products for the retail/grocery industry. The latter three are available for both retail and foodservice.

About Vegan Action/Vegan Awareness Foundation
Created in 1995, Vegan.org is one of the oldest and most visited vegan websites in the world. Their efforts over the past 25 years include certifying thousands of vegan products with their logo through their Vegan Certification Campaign. The Certified Vegan Logo is a registered trademark, similar in nature to the kosher mark, for products that do not contain animal products or byproducts and that have not been tested on animals. The certified logo is easily visible to consumers interested in vegan products and helps vegans to shop without constantly consulting ingredient lists. It also helps companies recognize a growing vegan market, as well as bringing the word Vegan–and the lifestyle it represents–into the mainstream. The Certified Vegan Logo is currently on thousands of products manufactured by over 900 companies. Website: vegan.org
