President Mel Knight Honors His First Fuzzy’s Location With 10 Days of Specials, A Free Concert,
Giveaways, a Fiesta, and More!
Fuzzy’s Taco Shop’s Industrial Street location in Denton, TX is celebrating its 10-year anniversary this January with 10 days of specials leading up to a vibrant anniversary fiesta. In addition to celebrating a decade of serving the Denton community, the popular fast-casual Mexican food restaurant will commemorate the deep history and tradition rooted in the Industrial Street location.
When Fuzzy’s franchisee (and today’s current Fuzzy’s Taco Shop President) Mel Knight opened the Denton Industrial location 10 years ago, the street was undeveloped and not in the regular rotation for most Denton-locals, resulting in some curiosity about the selection of this site. With a vision for the potential of Industrial Street, Knight joined long-time-friend and local business owner Dan Mojica on the strip, who’s music venue Dan’s Silver Leaf resides at the end of the Industrial Block. Over the years, the pair have put Industrial Street on the map, establishing an area known today for its funky vibe where locals gather to dine, and enjoy music, art and its nightlife.
In addition to his impact on the Denton community, Knight quickly became an indispensable team member at Fuzzy’s, taking on the responsibility of franchisee development for the company. Since opening, over 30 franchisees have signed agreements with Fuzzy’s at the Industrial location, further etching the location as a key cornerstone of the company’s history. The story doesn’t stop with Knight or Fuzzy’s franchisees. Fuzzy’s has also impacted both its staff and loyal guests, with folks that have been visiting this location since Industrial’s doors were first opened. Additionally, between employees that have worked at Industrial since it opened, and others that have transferred out of the store to move on to the corporate team, Fuzzy’s Industrial has been a huge part of many people’s lives.
With all this said, there is a lot to celebrate and you know Fuzzy’s is going to do it big! In honor of this huge milestone, Fuzzy’s Industrial location is offering specials for 10 days leading up to a not-to-be-missed anniversary fiesta, offering fans everything from a free concert at Dan’s SilverLeaf, to Fuzzy’s swag, giveaway and food and beverage specials all week. About Fuzzy’s Taco Shop
The original Fuzzy’s Taco Shop on Berry Street in Fort Worth, Texas is where the brand’s version of taco heaven was created in 2003. It would have frosty drinks. It would have good vibes. It would be a huge, craving-inducing success. With the continued dedication to serve fresh Mexican-food favorites and the addition of frosty drinks, Fuzzy’s earned a cult-like following, and that first location turned into more than 100 across the country. So no matter where you roam, you’re never far from Baja tacos, guac and chips, and frozen margaritas. That is reason enough to celebrate with some, as far as we’re concerned.
