French Dining Oasis Arrives in Miami’s South of Fifth Neighborhood with the Opening of La Grande Boucherie

Known for its grand Art Nouveau-inspired spaces and Parisian brasserie vibe, the French dining concept born in New York, Boucherie, is now bringing its signature elegance to Miami with an inviting, garden-inspired twist. Under a lush canopy of foliage in Miami Beach’s coveted South of Fifth neighborhood, La Grande Boucherie emerges as the first Miami outpost from The Group Hospitality.

Drawing inspiration from French culinary tradition and the opulent charm of Paul Poiret’s famed 1920 Oasis Party, La Grande Boucherie Miami invites guests to indulge in an immersive experience where lush gardens, rich textures, and refined dishes create an unforgettable escape. With its distinct aesthetic and elevated menu, La Grande Boucherie brings a touch of timeless French allure to South of Fifth.

Co-designed by Legeard Studio and Emil Stefkov, the space pays tribute to the grandeur of Denise Boulet, wife of designer and philanthropist Paul Poiret, who’s iconic 1920s Oasis Parties inspired the vibrant, festive atmosphere of the brasserie. Renowned for hosting extravagant events that fused art, fashion, and culture, the influence of Denise Boulet and Paul Poiret is woven throughout the space, from its intricate interiors to its immersive ambiance. A historic building originally designed by renowned Art Deco architect Henry Hohauser in 1938, the La Grande Boucherie Miami blends the timeless elegance of Art Deco with the spirited inspiration of Poiret.

“We are thrilled to bring La Grande Boucherie to Miami’s South of Fifth neighborhood, offering a unique fusion of an indulgent steakhouse with the timeless charm of a refined Parisian brasserie,” said Emil Stefkov, founder of The Group Hospitality. “This new venture marks a significant milestone for The Group Hospitality as we step into the Magic City, known for its vibrant culture and world-class gastronomy. We look forward to introducing this one-of-a-kind dining experience housed within a reimagined, historic, art deco building where guests will be transported to the Golden Age of Paris—an era where art, fashion, and culture converged in a spectacular celebration of life.”

Guests arrive through the bistro table-filled garden courtyard, where vibrant greenery and blooming florals create an atmosphere of tranquil elegance. Just inside, a grand bar greets patrons, setting the tone with its polished brass accents and marble surfaces—a signature of Boucherie’s timeless design. The ground-level dining room extends the classic brasserie ambiance with subway-tiled walls, intricate mosaic floors, and carved wood wainscoting, plaster ornaments and French antiques that evoke the rich craftsmanship of early 20th-century Paris.

Upstairs, La Grande Boucherie takes on a more seductive atmosphere, inspired by the exotic allure of Denise Boulet’s soirées. Jewel-toned ornate custom wallpaper casts a moody glow, while rich fabrics and plush seating invite guests to unwind in elegance. The private dining rooms offer secluded views overlooking the vibrant courtyard below, creating intimate spaces where guests can revel in the ambiance of a hidden paradise.

La Grande Boucherie Miami is led by Executive Chef Leonardo Pablo who has spearheaded acclaimed projects with Jean-Georges and helmed concepts like The UPLAND Miami. Most recently, he oversaw culinary operations at W South Beach and Esmé Hotel. Now, he brings his expertise and vision to redefine Miami’s dining scene with culinary offerings that introduces guests to the many facets of French gastronomy through large-format meats, a raw bar, and both classic, modern French dishes. The extensive meat offering features the highest-quality prime cuts like Filet de Bœuf or Filet Mignon Au Poivre, grass-feed ribeye Entrecôte Grillée, large-formats like Chateaubriand pour Deux and Plateau du Boucher, and in-house dry-aged and wagyu meat. These will be offered alongside signature bistro classics like Soupe à l’Oignon, Moules a la Basquaise and Les Escargots. Ingredients, including the meat and poultry, are sourced locally from trusted farms, creating a farm-to-table experience that ensures freshness and quality. At this vibrant new location, La Grande Boucherie will also debut a seafood-centric menu, adding a fresh, Miami-inspired twist to the culinary experience. Exclusive to the Miami venue, guests can savor exceptional offerings like Loup De Mer (grilled branzino), Langoustine Géante (grilled U2 Prawns), Stone Crab, Maine Lobster, King Crab Fumant, and Poulpe de Méditerranée (Mediterranean octopus)

To complement the culinary journey, the beverage program showcases an extensive list of wines from France, while also highlighting curated specialties from specific regions of the U.S. Boucherie uniquely aims to include lesser-known grape varieties on its menu, such as tannat, mondeuse, and picpoul, as well as winemakers practicing sustainable farming and organic methods. The cocktail list features La Grande Boucherie’s signature selection of libations, as well as a collection of special cocktails, bringing vibrant flavors inspired by Poiret’s eclectic tastes and infusing tropical and exotic notes that harmonize with the lush garden atmosphere.

La Grande Boucherie was created by The Group Hospitality, which began its collection of premier restaurant brands in 2010 with the opening of Italian trattoria Olio e Più in Greenwich Village. The company opened the first Boucherie concept, ‘La Grande Boucherie’ in Manhattan in 2020, where it remains today the largest restaurant in New York City. In 2024, The Group opened La Grande Boucherie concepts in Chicago and Washington, D.C., met with resounding success. Known for transforming iconic spaces with an artful blend of French elegance and local influence, The Group Hospitality now brings its signature style to Miami Beach with La Grande Boucherie in a breathtaking Art Deco-style building perfectly fitted for the neighborhood.

This latest venture is just the beginning for The Group in South Florida, with additional concepts planned to enhance Miami’s culinary landscape and create spaces that celebrate the city’s unique blend of glamour and sophistication. Each location reflects the company’s dedication to immersive, thoughtfully crafted dining experiences that captivate and connect communities.
