Figue Mediterranean in La Quinta Hosts Romantic Valentine’s Day in VeniceFigue Mediterranean Restaurant will celebrate a long Valentine’s Weekend on February 13, 14, 15 and 16 with an inspired, romantic culinary journey through Venice, Italy. The special menu, available on Thursday through Sunday during Valentine’s weekend and President’s day, will be offered in addition to the full regular menu.

“Venice is one of the world’s most romantic places, and so we’re thrilled to bring the passion of this evocative place to the Coachella Valley for Valentine’s Day,” said owner Lee Morcus. “We’ve created a sumptuous menu that will please the senses and set the mood for romantic conversation.”

Executive Chef Francois de Melogue has added a bit of whimsy to the occasion by Figue oysters and roses low res 06naming his dishes with a touch of sensual innuendo that’s certain to add spark to the meal. Starters such as Wood Nymph’s Soup ($12), creamy Mushroom Soup with crispy Pancetta and Fingerling Potatoes; Ahi Tuna Crudo ($16), chilled Tuna, Olive Oil, wild Arugula, micro Mâche, Reggiano shavings; and Casanova’s Raw Oysters and Roses ($18), six delicious Oysters served on the half shell barely clothed in a Proseco – Rose Petal Mignonette.

There’s something for everyone on the special Valentine’s menu. Start with a choice of main courses: Spaghetti All’Astice ($28), Spaghetti, half Lobster, fresh Tomatoes, Brandy and Tarragon; Involtini of Jidori Chicken Saltimbocca ($28), roasted escalopes of Jidori Chicken breast stuffed with Robiola Bosina cheese, Sage and Black Label Prosciutto, creamy Polenta, Lemon & Caper Sauce; Aphrodite’s Roast Duckling ($38), half Duckling roasted to perfection on a bed of Ricotta Cavatelli with caramelized Lavender Honey and Blood Orange jus; Filet of Beef Saint Valentine ($45) served on a bed of Truffled Grits and wilted Greens with Red Wine Sauce and Carrot Shoestrings; and Wood Roast Milk Fed Veal Chop ‘Pommes d’amour’ ($56), Mashed Potatoes, Caramelized Love Apples, and sparkling Cider Sauce.

Sweetness is the soul of Valentine’s Day, and Figue will present a luscious, seductive choice of desserts to complete the celebration. Choices include Ménage A Trois ($9), Warm Chocolate Cake, Strong Hot Chocolate and Bombolinis; and a Citrus Tiramisu ($9).

Also on Valentine’s Day, The Bar at Figue will be in full swing with cocktail hour beginning at 4 p.m. and continuing throughout the evening. Guests can relax and enjoy the newly created, unique bar program featuring world-class wines, premium cocktails and craft beers to accompany the wide selection of small plates, artisan pizza and Panini, as well as delicious offerings from the fresh charcuterie and mozzarella bar.
