The biggest week of the year is about to take place in Palm Desert, California. A who’s who of culinary luminaries and fashionistas are about to take over the area and Figue Mediterranean will be serving them on a figurative silver platter.
If you plan to attend the Palm Desert Food & Wine Festival and Fashion Week, make note to visit Figue Mediterranean for a tasty sampling of its delicious food by their star Chef François de Mélogue.
Chef de Mélogue will be showing guests how to make Moroccan Sea Scallops at a demo beginning at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 22 at Stage #1: Lounge Tent. The event takes place in the Big White Tent near El Paseo in Palm Desert.
You can also find the Figue team at their booth during the Grand Tasting events, “California Dreamin'” 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 22 and “Brunch, Bubbles, and Brews” noon to 5 p.m., Sunday, March 23. Figue is sampling its popular Jerusalem Kofta with Tahini, Tomato Cucumber Salad, Bull Blood Micro greens from its menu, so make sure to visit for a fabulous culinary trip to the Mediterranean.
You’ll also find Figue at Fashion Week which coincides with the Food & Wine Festival. As the exclusive restaurant of its “Designer of the Week” night, this Saturday, Figue will be serving a variety of colorful appetizers to its 900 expected attendees. Featured dishes are Parmesan Sablee, Tomato Confit, Feta, Micro Greens as well as the Jerusalem Kofta.
Figue mixologists also have conjured up two specialty craft cocktails that will be unveiled at the Designer of the Week benefit. Figue’s Blushing Kiss Martini is made with 2 parts Double Cross vodka, 1 part Ste. Germain Elderflower Liqueur, 1 part fresh squeezed Ruby Red grapefruit juice, and garnished with a sprig of thyme. The Midnight Manhattan is made with 2 oz. Wild Turkey, ½ oz. sweet vermouth, ½ oz. balsamic grenadine, and garnished with an orange slice.
Figue Mediterranean Restaurant will be serving the Jerusalem Kosta and fresh Alaskan Halibut (as featured on KMIR6-TV) as specials at the restaurant in honor of the Festival and Fashion Week.

About the Food & Wine Festival
The 4th annual Food & Wine Festival Palm Desert will be held March 21-23, 2014. The festival, organized by Palm Springs Life, will gather the brightest and most inspired chefs from across the country for three extraordinary days of culinary and wine tasting under The Big White Tent on Larkspur between El Paseo and Shadow Mountain in Palm Desert, CA. This event will be uniquely educational in focus, showcasing the Coachella Valley as an excellent culinary destination.

About Fashion Week’s Designer of the Week – Zang Toi
The 2014 honored Designer of the Week is Zang Toi. Benefitting the Fashion Group International Palm Springs and The Desert Outreach Foundation, the event takes place Saturday, March 22 at Trilogy at the Polo Club starting with a 7 p.m. “White Night” Cocktail Reception and followed by an 8 p.m. Fashion Show.
This is the night to wear elegant white to celebrate the grand finale event of the week. Designer of the Week, Zang Toi, of New York City, brings his timeless and uncompromising collection of exquisite fabrics and delicate silhouettes to the runway. An established name in the haute couture world, Toi’s designs pamper women with elegance and glamour.
