Last week, Team One (the full-service ad agency with offices in LA, NYC, Chicago, Dallas and Atlanta) launched Expense for Good, a new initiative aimed at helping several groups that have been directly impacted by Coronavirus closures: local restaurants, students who depend on school meals, and other community members who depend on hunger-relief organizations.
The agency kicked things off last Monday – each employee was given a $20 lunch budget to spend during the week. After purchasing a meal from a restaurant in their local community, they were asked to submit an expense report. But instead of reimbursing the team for those meals, Team One is paying it forward, matching that meal expense and donating that money to local food banks. The agency partnered with Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, Crossroads Community Services (Dallas), The Giving Kitchen (Atlanta), God’s Love we Deliver (New York) and the Greater Chicago Food Depository.
Over the course of the week-long initiative, 116 employees participated — raising over $2,300 for local food banks across the country. Many employees shared photos of their meals from places like Dave’s Hot Chicken and KING POKE in Los Angeles, Surf Taco in the NY/NJ Tristate area, Wabi House in Dallas on social.
