The popular coconut water beverage will have access to a larger distribution network across the US starting with Pennsylvania state
Epicurex LLC, the manufacturer of the popular organic coconut water COCOZIA, has announced it will partner with leading natural and specialty foods distributor UNFI , which will provide Epicurex with a much larger network to deliver COCOZIA to key retail chains.
“There were a number of distributors we could have gone with,” said Paul Kilbride, VP of Sales, but UNFI was by far the best fit for us. The larger distribution network is critical for the success of COCOZIA, but it’s also about finding a company that we can move forward with. Epicurex LLC and UNFI share a similar mission when it comes to providing all natural and organic products to our customers here in the U.S. That really sealed the deal for us.”
The UNFI network is one of the biggest in the U.S., serving large and small retailers across the U.S. and Canada. In addition to its distribution network, it offers merchandising, marketing and category management as well as support services at the store level. Kilbride says these added services will give COCOZIA additional leg up in the competitive coconut water market.
“We needed a distributor capable of meeting the future growth of COCOZIA,” said Kilbride. The size of the network is important, but it’s only one piece of the puzzle. The additional support they provide in terms of merchandising and marketing will ensure that our brand reaches the eyes and ears of customers in our target markets. We’re convinced that the results will be positive.”
COCOZIA made its debut in 2013 with strong promotion behind it as being USDA Organic and Kosher certified as well as Non-GMO Project verified. The success of the original flavor has allowed Epicurex to expand COCOZIA lineup of flavors, which will soon include mango, pineapple, chocolate and coffee.
