El Fenix Serves Up Free Meals on Veterans Day

Active-duty and retired service-members dine on the house on Nov. 11

DALLAS (Nov. 3, 2015) – For nearly 100 years, El Fenix has proudly served the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces. The connection goes even deeper than food, as Alfred Martinez, son of the chain’s founder, honorably served as a pilot in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.

This Veterans Day, Wednesday, Nov. 11, El Fenix is inviting all active-duty and retired members of the U.S. military to choose from six different meals – each compliments of the originator of Tex-Mex cuisine.

The free Veterans Day menu includes the following items:

Ø Enchilada Dinner – two cheese, chicken or beef enchiladas, served with rice and refried beans;

Ø Chicken Tortilla Soup – a large bowl of our famous tortilla soup with rice and shredded chicken breast;

Ø Juarez Plate – one cheese enchilada, one meat taco and one guacamole tostada, served with rice and beans;

Ø Durango Dinner – one cheese enchilada, one meat taco and one soft cheese taco, served with rice and beans;

Ø Monterey Chicken Platter – marinated grilled chicken breast, topped with melted Monterey Jack cheese, handmade guacamole and fresh pico de gallo, served with rice and beans; and,

Ø Mexican Cobb Salad – tender grilled chicken breast, diced tomatoes, avocado, chorizo and queso fresco on a bed of mixed greens, tossed with jalapeño ranch dressing.

Guests are asked to provide military ID or proof of service to receive their choice of one of the above options. Valid at all 22 locations on 11/11/15 only. Not valid in combination with other coupons, offers or discounts. Beverage, tax and tip not included. Dine-in only.
