The Julia Child Foundation for Gastronomy and the Culinary Arts has announced four new members to their Advisory Council including Doug Margerum, Owner and Director of Winemaking at Margerum Wine Company. This group of distinguished professionals also includes Sally Ekus, Erin Fairbanks and Darra Goldstein who join current Advisory member Jim Dodge. Advisory Council members will provide guidance on ways to carry out the Foundation’s mission. They represent a broad spectrum of culinary experience, and many – including Doug Margerum – were closely associated with Julia Child and knew her well. For more information about the Foundation, visit JuliaChildFoundation.org, which states on its home page:
“Julia Child made cooking fun. She inspired millions to take to the kitchen and appreciate the pleasures of making and eating good food. In 1995, Julia had the foresight to establish The Julia Child Foundation for Gastronomy and the Culinary Arts to further her far-reaching impact as a teacher and mentor after her death. Since 2004, the Foundation, through grants made to other non-profit organizations and by presenting the Julia Child Award, continues Julia’s legacy, educating and encouraging others to live well through the joys of cooking, eating and drinking well.”
