More than 16 million American children face hunger. This September, Togo’s, a “West Coast Original” since 1971 serving up big, made-to-order sandwiches stuffed with the freshest ingredients, is joining thousands of restaurants nationwide to support Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry® campaign by raising funds through Share Our Strength’s Dine Out For No Kid Hungry™ program.
From September 1 – 30, 2012, with every $1 donation, Togo’s guests will receive a free 20 oz. fountain drink to use during their next visit. Last year, Togo’s began its partnership with Share Our Strength by raising over $18,000 and this year the company aims to more than double its prior donation. Through the No Kid Hungry® campaign, just $1 helps connect a child facing hunger to 10 meals.
“At Togo’s, we are passionate about ending childhood hunger and feel proud to once again participate in Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign to help raise funds for such a worthwhile cause,” said Tony Gioia, chairman and CEO at Togo’s Eateries, Inc. “Giving back to the local communities we serve is part of our Togo’s culture, and we hope that our raving and loyal fans will rally this September to make sure no kid in America goes hungry.”
Now in its fifth year, Dine Out For No Kid Hungry has raised more than $4 million for the No Kid Hungry campaign.
“Everyone—private citizens, businesses, policymakers, and nonprofits—has a role in helping end childhood hunger in America,” said Billy Shore, founder and CEO of Share Our Strength. “I encourage everyone to dine out often at participating restaurants wherever they are this September. Then visit NoKidHungry.org to join this national movement to ensure that every child in America has access to the nutritious food they need, every day.”
At Togo’s, there is a relentless commitment to using only the freshest, superior-quality ingredients and proprietary meats. California avocados are mashed daily, Artisan bread, abundant quantities of lean pastrami, roast beef, turkey and other premium meats are part of Togo’s exceptional menu and set the brand apart from other sandwich shops.
