DINE IN A CABLE CAR AT MUNICH AIRPORT ‘S NEW ALPINE-THEMED RESTAURANT IN TERMINAL 2
The Alps just got a little closer with “Sportalm,” the latest addition to the myriad food choices in Munich Airport’s Terminal 2. With its mountain-themed decor and Alpine specialties, the restaurant features unusual seating in a gondola from a real ski lift with views of snowy peaks and rocky slopes, along with a lower-level sports bar area and upper-level sun terrace, love seats and lounge chairs. The second level will open in April.
The airy restaurant has Alpine charm down to the last detail. Tree trunks, traditional knickknacks, an old barn door and a stone trough are reminiscent of a traditional Upper Bavarian farmhouse. Along with authentic, old-style coziness, sports play a leading role in Sportalm. While enjoying delicious meals, guests can follow live events on big screen televisions.
The natural, home-style menu has something for everyone from the ever-popular kaiserschmarrn to many new favorites, from pasta dishes to salads.
