“Curious Craft Beer Bash” at Mahoney’s Pub & Grille on Sunday, August 23, 2015, to Benefit Variety – The Children’s Charity
Sample over 30 Craft Beers and Compete in the “Sausage Blowing” Contest
(Chicago, Ill.) – The craft beer and sausage sampling fest, formerly known as LagerJam, having occurred at Mahoney’s Pub & Grille four times previously, will now be known as the Curious Craft Beer Bash, since it was about so much more than just lager. This fifth installment will take place on Sunday, August 23, 2015, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and will once again benefit Variety – The Children’s Charity http://variety.org/. Curious Craft Beer Bash will be an afternoon of craft beer and sausage sampling, produced by the makers of the legendary Chicago’s Best WingFest www.wingfest.net. The Curious Craft Beer Bash will provide patrons, ages 21 and over, a variety of three-ounce samples of over 30 craft beers, along with bite-sized samples of complementing sausages for only $25 per person. Representatives from the breweries will be onsite to speak about each of the beers as patrons sample at their leisure. Previous events have included samples of beers from such breweries as: Aquanaut, Bell’s, Big Sky, Buffalo Bill’s, Brooklyn, Clown Shoes, Deschutes, Goose Island, Lagunitas, New Belgium, Onion, Potosi, Revolution, Sierra Nevada, Tenth and Blake, Three Heads, and many more.
A fun beer or sausage related contest has occurred at previous events, and due to popular demand, the Sausage Blowing contest will happen at the Curious Craft Beer Bash! Contestants will race against one another to see who can blow a sausage wheel, constructed with two pieces of sausage and a toothpick through the center, to the finish line the fastest. There will be both a men’s and women’s competition and then a faceoff between the finalists to crown one Sausage Blowing champion and gift them with a basket full of beers and other goodies to take home.
Curious Craft Beer Bash will take place, rain or shine, at Mahoney’s utilizing their ample outdoor patio, their airy cantina, and spacious indoor bar, too. Tickets will be $25 in advance and $30 the day of the event, if available.
