Counter, Chef Justin Perdue’s new American restaurant and bar, which opened last night at boutique hotel collection, Lark Hotels’ newest property, The Hotel Salem.
Located on the ground floor of The Hotel Salem in Salem, Massachusetts, Counter’s menu showcases New England’s seasonality and highlights the beauty and simplicity of a singular ingredient in each dish. Outfitted by Boston’s Rachel Reider Interiors, Counter takes design inspiration from mid-century diners, and the sense of community that was fostered within anchor department stores of the 50s and 60s, like Newmark’s, the former department store that’s building has been transformed into The Hotel Salem.
In addition to table seating, the full-service restaurant and bar boast a 20-seat counter with expansive views of the open kitchen. The Hotel Salem will also be home to Salem’s first rooftop restaurant and bar, The Roof, which is slated to open this spring.
