#SLAY DTLA
Eagle Rock’s ultra-chic Red Herring is bringing its elevated American comfort food and vintage Hollywood glamour to Downtown Los Angeles in Spring 2019. The lovechild of husband-and-wife team Chef Dave Woodall and Alexis Martin Woodall, the second location can be found at 770 South Grand Avenue (at 8th Street). The new digs will feature an all-day menu, full bar and plenty of people watching, all designed in the restaurant’s signature style.
TAKING THE PARTY DOWNTOWN
Each night, just as it does at its flagship Eagle Rock location, Red Herring will bring the classic dinner party to life with a selection of hearty, made-from-scratch small plates. Blue Lump Crab Cakes with romesco, basil aioli and pickled mustard seeds and Chicken Liver Pâté with grilled bread, house pickles and herbs get the party started while mains like House Made Linguini with black mussels, tomato, parsley and white wine and Duroc Pork Chop with cranberry beans, grilled escarole, fennel emulsion and chermoula round out the night. Dessert includes Fried-to-Order Donuts and a rotating Slice O’ Pie. Details of the breakfast and lunch menus are to come, but the Grand Avenue location will serve Red Herring’s weekend brunch, including the Breakfast Caesar Salad with imperial kale, grilled romaine, curried wheat berries, poached egg, bacon, heirloom tomato and Caesar dressing and the infamous Hangover Helper with two eggs, hash browns and chicken fried sausage smothered in gravy.
CHEERS, BABY
Unique to the new location, Red Herring Grand Avenue will offer a full cocktail program, along with a curated selection of wine-based cocktails. A selection of wine and draft and bottled beers will also be available, along with coffee, espresso, and freshly squeezed juices.
GRAND IS GOOD
Located in the ground level of the 8th & Grand luxury apartment complex, minutes from L.A. Live, the 3,300-square-foot space will boast Red Herring’s luxurious signature design blending jewel tones, custom furniture pieces, eye-catching, Instagram-able wallpaper and other vibrant décor to give the restaurant a vintage-glam touch. The restaurant will offer table, booth and bar seating, as well as an outdoor patio.
