Wynn Las Vegas and Encore have named Christopher Hopkins as resort mixologist. Drawing upon his extensive background and knowledge of the beverage industry, Hopkins will focus on educating the staff with training courses to maintain consistency while creating seasonal cocktail menus and standardizing recipes.
“It is an exciting opportunity to be able to join the ranks of the talented food and beverage team at Wynn,” said Hopkins. “I look forward to creating a variety of innovative cocktail menus with my signature touches for the resort’s guests to experience and enjoy.”
In his short tenure at Wynn, Hopkins has already introduced new cocktails to the menu at the recently renovated Wing Lei such as the Jade Empress, made with Casa Noble Blanco tequila, Domaine de Canton ginger liqueur, Perfect Puree pear, lime juice and ginger syrup as well as the Golden Flower, crafted with Kai Coconut-Pandan, Velvet Falernum, lime juice, Perfect Puree mango, and cardamom-infused honey syrup, garnished with an edible white flower and gold flake.
Prior to taking the helm at Wynn Las Vegas, Hopkins served as property mixologist at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, a bartender for the DJT Lounge and Restaurant at Trump International Hotel and was the head bartender at SOHO House Group in London.
With more than 16 years’ experience in the food and beverage industry, Hopkins has participated in numerous showcases at the South Beach, Los Angeles and New York Food and Wine Festivals. He also served as a cocktail consultant for The Merrywell, in his hometown of Perth and also Melbourne, Australia.
