Christie Cookie Adds Management And Bakery Staff

The Christie Cookie Company, based in Nashville, Tenn., is adding two management positions as well as six full-time bakery staff heading into the company’s busiest season of the year. Ken Wilson will serve as vice president of operations and Rebecca Bridges joins as quality assurance manager. The company, founded in 1983, is renowned for its gourmet cookies and brownies sold nationally via mail order and food-service vendors.

Wilson comes to Nashville from Mohnton, Pa, where he spent four years as the plant manager for DeMet’s Candy Company. With responsibilities focusing on safety, operational proficiency and employee morale, Wilson was instrumental in Demet’s Candy Company being awarded AIB scores of superior and achieving a production volume increase of 27 percent in only 18 months. Prior to that, he served as plant manager for George Weston Bakeries and was responsible for the start-up of a 97,000-square foot Entenmann’s cake facility with two production lines in Hazelton, Pa.

Prior to joining Christie Cookie, Bridges mostly recently worked with Tyson Foods in Shelbyville, Tenn., where she served since 2007 as quality assurance supervisor and as hazard analysis and critical control points (HACCP) coordinator for the last year. Focusing on strict food safety and compliance initiatives, Bridges created the policies and procedures for Tyson Foods, Shelbyville BRC audit, resulting in the company receiving an “A” for the past four years consecutively.
